Low-Level Laser Therapy

Advanced Technology

Low Level Laser Therapy helps to reduce swelling, reduce pain, and accelerate tissue healing by supplying vital oxygen and energy to the cell. This in turn stimulates the cell to heal faster and more efficiently. Low Level Laser Therapy has been found to assist many patients with faster, more efficient healing and can be used for most soft tissue injuries.

How it Works

For most people, Low Level Laser Therapy is not intimidating. There are no pulsating shocks or heat felt as are with other forms of therapy. The most noticeable sensation is the touch of the probe head of the laser, as it comes in contact with the skin. Some patients (3-5% of those undergoing Low Level Laser Therapy) have reported a slight tingling or tapping in the nerve or along the nerve pathway. Some have noted that they are able to sense a slight feeling or warmth. The treatment may last from 2-20 minutes (depending on the condition). Following (and even during) a Low Level Laser Therapy session, approximately 75-80% of the patients being treated can notice immediate improvement in their condition. This will depend primarily on the condition and the length of time the condition has been present. In general, (like with most conditions), the longer you have had a condition and/or the more severe it is, the longer it takes to respond. The majority of conditions treated can take anywhere from 4-18 treatments. If the condition does not change immediately, it may take 3-4 sessions before the patient begins to see results.

The Results

Low Level Laser Therapy has been successfully used around the world for over 25 years, with no reported long-term or irreversible effects. This is another great opportunity for patients to stop their pain without the damaging side effects of drugs and surgery.
